Christ in Us

The experience we find when we try to overcome by our own strength is uncanny failure for though we have some success and we can list those successes, sin and self strength just gets shifted elsewhere.

That is why to overcome to be effective is to have Christ as our lives, because we cannot. Even our submission is a failure and God knows this. So what does God do instead? He makes Christ our life. This is the solution, so it is no longer we that live but Christ in us.

As He brought us into His death on the cross, our resurrection is also His as He lives out His life in us by the Holy Spirit in our spirits.

I find that in trusting God's Word that this is true, successes are authentic and not just rearrangements of self and sin. It becomes easier and is without hurdles staring at the Christian ominously, because Christ just does it right. With the old man having died giving the root of sin no power to express itself, likewise the self is also cut off because now their is power over sin and Christ's resurrection is ours to walk by the spirit.
