As compelling as these arguments are, I still prefer another method of proof which is as follows.

1) The universe can't come from nothing, because that which does not exist can't cause anything. Nothing always leaves nothing from nothing.

2) The universe could not always have existed because if there was an eternity of the past of cause and effects of nature by that definition you would have happened already, having had an eternity to do so. Therefore, nature needs a cause outside itself, outside of time and space being uncreated. This uncreated Creator is whom we call God.
